Loran Eugene Slagle, 72, of Jonesville, Virginia went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 18, 2024 at his home.

Loran was born in Lee County, Virginia on October 7, 1952. He graduated from Pennington High School in 1971. Loran was a staff sergeant in the US Army and a jump master in the 82nd Airbourne. He was a devoted Christian. Loran was a carpenter and took great pride in his work. He loved his family and friends.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Silas Hascue Slagle and Nellie Lee Slagle (Parsons).

Loran is survived by his wife, Debra Slagle, his three daughters, Megan Perkins, Rebekah Thatcher, and Marah Mullins, one son, Joshua Slagle, three sisters, Audrey Nickels, Phyllis Jones, and Florence Helton, grandchildren, Caleb, Isaiah (Anastasia), Aiden, Bethany, and Theo.

Per his wishes he will be cremated with no formal services.

Loran and his family are in the care of Powell Valley Funeral Home.
