(Courtesy Announcement) Of Province Funeral Home Lonnie E. (Chico), Jones age 73, of Fairfield, OH was born November 13, 1942 and passed away August 29, 2016. He was the loving husband of Lorena (nee Ward); dear father of Mark (Sheila) Sales, Rhea (Bill) Anderson, Lisa (Neil) Gilreath, Angela (Tom) Sauer, Alissa Jones Barnes, and Lance (Renee) Jones; brother to Jerry (Janet) Jones, Luke (Amanda) Jones, Jennifer Jones, Janet Jones Siegel, and Juanita Jones; grandpa to 20 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, uncle, aunts, cousins and many friends. Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents Lonnie (Betty) Jones & Orpha (nee Hall) Jones & daughter Aleah. He dedicated 40 years to law enforcement. Here's a little story of the type of person Lonnie was. November 18 1981 during a fire at the Highland Green Apartment complex Lonnie and another deputy made numerous trips into this smoke filled building getting residents out. During their last trip in they were overcome by the smoke. Lonnie was able to arouse himself enough that he picked his partner up and carried him outside to the ambulance saving his life. This was done without regard to his own life. Lonnie loved to fish and had spent many years going fishing in Alabama with his brother. Visitation will be from 10am-12pm with FOP service immediately following on September 3, 2016 at the Avance Funeral Home and Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd. Fairfield, OH 45014.
