Lillie Mae Baumgardner age 86 of the Long Hollow Community in Pennington Gap, VA was born in Lee County, VA on Sunday, September 1, 1929 and passed away Thursday, September 10, 2015 at the Norton Community Hospital in Norton, VA. She had been a homemaker and a member of the Colliers Chapel Church. Lillie enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, canning and she loved to quilt. She was preceded in death by her husband Lewis Baumgardner, a son Eugene Baumgardner, infant daughter Sally Baumgardner, daughter-in-law Non Baumgardner and her parents Hicks and Cassie (Miser) Young. Lillie is survived by her sons George, Robert, Donnie and Michael Baumgardner all of Jonesville, VA, Terry Baumgardner of Pennington Gap, VA and Charles Baumgardner and wife, Cindy of Norton, VA, daughters Charlotte Pendergraft and husband, James of Shelbyville, IN, Mary Williams and husband, Lohn of Pflugerville, TX and Lynn Bellamy and husband, Craig of Jonesville, VA. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and her sisters Beatrice Poteet of Duffield, VA and Margaret Hughes of Pennington Gap, VA. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM Friday, September 11, 2015 at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap, VA with Paul Davis, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM Friday until the time of the service. A graveside service will be at 11:00 AM Saturday at the Baumgardner Cemetery on Ward Hill in Pennington Gap, VA. Friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:30 AM Saturday to go to the cemetery.
