Lewis H. Russell, 85, of Pennington Gap, Virginia went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Ridgecrest Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation surrounded by his loving family.

Lewis was born on May 7, 1940 in Lee County, Virginia to the late General Dewey Russell and Estelle Mae Givens Russell. He worked for several years as a farmer, at the saw mill, mechanic, and many other odd jobs.

Along with his parents Lewis is preceded in death by multiple brothers and sisters.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Wanda Lowery, Louella Edison, Joyce Roberts. Lewis Miller, Michelle Cruz, and Dana Williams; brother, Charlie Russell; sisters, Louise Russell of Jonesville, Monnie Fraley of White Pine, Tennessee, and Margaret Gibson of Ben Hur, Virginia; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at Pennington Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Leonard Lane officiating. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:45 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
