Obituary Lela Wardell, age 78 of Pennington Gap,VA was born on Sunday, May 12, 1940 and passed away Friday, June 1, 2018 at the Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents McKinley and Ada Stapleton, three brothers, Walter, Clyde and Paul Stapleton. Two sisters Ardith Bryson and Nell Ridings. She is survived by her husband of 57 years Clyde Wardell, her son Scott Wardell and her daughter Robin Napier and husband Scott. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Scotty Wardell and wife Angel, Dylan Wardell and wife Makayla, Brandon Napier and Schyler Napier. She is also survived by 7 great-great grandchildren. One brother, Pete Stapleton and five sisters, Goldie Greene, Mossie Idica, Vergie Nelson, Ruby Minton and Anna Lou Stapleton. Her wishes were to be cremated In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the Southwest Virginia Cancer Center in Norton, VA in her memory.
