Larry Paul Jessee age 67 of Vance, AL and formerly of St. Charles, VA was born Monday, April 25, 1949 and passed away Sunday, September 25, 2016 at his home. He had been a resident of Alabama for the past 21 years. Larry retired as a coal miner after 32 years and was a member of the UMWA. He was a proud member of the Brookwood Masonic Lodge #509 in Brookwood, AL and he attended the Rock Mountain Lake Church of God in McCalla, AL. He was preceded in death by his parents Christopher (C.J.) and Margaret Woodard Jessee, three brothers Jeff, Rodney and Gary "Poodler" Jessee and a great-nephew Christopher Jessee. Larry is survived by his wife of 43 years Sheila Jessee of the home, two sons Jeffery Jessee and Larry Jessee, Jr. both of Vance, AL and one daughter Christina Stamps and husband, Shane of Tuscaloosa, AL, his grandchildren Savannah Stamps, Summer Stamps, Brystal Jessee and Jeff Jessee, five sisters Sue Hobbs and husband, Jim of Talladega, AL, Sharon Short and husband, Charles of Flatwoods, VA, Eula Baldwin and husband, Don of Hickory Flats, VA, Terrie Mullins and husband, William of Dryden, VA and Janice Robbins and husband, Mike of St. Charles, VA. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other family and special friends including Jim and Jackie Collins, Joe Phillips and Hershell Robbins. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at the Province Funeral Home in Pennington Gap, VA with Paul Davis, Jr. officiating. A Masonic funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon Thursday with burial to follow at the Whitt Cemetery in Bonny Blue, VA. Pallbearers will be Joe Phillips, Clyde Owens, Adam Ely, Dave Huffman, Jamie Berry, Waymon Berry and Holden Stanley. Honorary Pallbearers are Jim Hobbs, William Mullins, Mike Robbins, Charles Short and Don Baldwin.
