Larry Herron, 74, of Big Stone Gap went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at his residence.

Larry was born on October 13, 1948 in Exeter, Virginia to the late Abraham and Ethel Herron. Larry served his country in the United States Army. He was a proud UMWA Coal Miner. He loved the outdoors especially hunting and spending time with his family. Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his grandson, Ricky Ingram; 3 brothers; and 4 sisters.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Alice Herron; son, Richard Ingram and wife Carla of Jonesville; daughters, Jennifer Chandler and husband Brandon of Big Stone Gap and Tammy and husband Harvey of Monroe, Georgia; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 2 brothers; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Pennington Gap Funeral Home.

A graveside service will follow at Powell Valley Cemetery in Dryden with Pastor Rick Phillips officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
