Obituary

Obituary Kay Counts passed away on September 17, 2022 with his family by his side. He was born on Feb 5th,1949 in Grundy, Virginia. Kay was a US Army Veteran and served in Vietnam. After leaving the Army Kay became a Virginia State Trooper and served for 33 years and retired as a Master Trooper. Kay lived in Lee County for 50 years and served the people of Lee County his entire career. Kay was preceded in death by his parents Jim and Hazel Counts, one brother Jimmy Counts and one sister Joan Counts. Kay is survived by his loving wife Wilma of the home. One son Ben Counts and fianc Jennifer. Granddaughter Peyton Hensley. Step grandchildren Ethan and Lynzie Ziehler. Special little girl Aubunie. Two special fur babies Stewie and Bella. Four brothers, Dorse Counts and wife Maureen, Gene Counts and wife Judy, Steve Counts and wife Shelia, Twin brother Jerry Counts and wife Judy Gay. Two sisters Irene Baldwin and husband Darrell, and Jima Dunston. And many nieces and nephew and host of friends and family. By the request of Kay he will be cremated. The family will have a Memorial Service on September 25th, 2022 at the Jonesville Rescue Squad Building at 3pm.
