Katherine 'Lucy' Blevins age 87 of Jonesville, VA was born Saturday, June 1, 1929 in Konnarock, VA and passed away Thursday, April 27, 2017 at the Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap, VA. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church in Pennington Gap, VA. She enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, quilting and crocheting. She is preceded in death by her parents Void Emerson and Laura Emaline (Pugh) Huffman, one sister Isabelle Clark and one brother Edward Huffman. Lucy is survived by her husband of 68 years A.R. (Aubrey Russell) Blevins of the home; one son Darryl Lynn Blevins and wife, Glenna of Harrodsburg, KY; four daughters Kathie Phillips and husband, Robert of Dandridge, TN, Carol Self and husband, Ken of Salem, NH, Connie Curtis and husband, Danny of Lexington, KY and Donna Lewis and husband, Charles 'Peanut' of Kingsport, TN. She is also survived by nine grandchildren Paula Blake, Robin Collins, Shawna Swiney, Jeffrey Collins, Lisa Bramhall, Blane Blevins, Seth Blevins, Kaela Lewis and Daniel Lewis; three step-grandchildren, Dana Curtis, Jake Biddle and Andrea Fogarty; thirteen great-grandchildren, two great great-grandchildren; one brother James Huffman and wife, Lucy of Troutdale, VA and two sisters Jean Richardson of Marion, VA and Pauline Mabe and husband, Barney of Whitetop, VA. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, May 1, 2017 at the First Christian Church in Pennington Gap, VA with Pastors Bob Richards and Jim Belcher officiating. Burial will follow at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, VA. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon Monday until the time of the service.
