Obituary Judy Lynn Smith, age 65 of Bristol, VA and formerly of the Ocoonita community of Jonesville, VA was born in Pennington Gap, VA on Wednesday, August 20, 1952 and went to her heavenly home on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at the Bristol Regional medical Center in Bristol, TN. Judy had worked as a nursing aid at Lee County Community Hospital years ago, loved collecting whatnots and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Bonnie Smith; one brother, Virgil Smith and one sister, Barbara Smith. She is survived by three sisters, Loretta Whiteside and husband Ronnie of Rutherfordton, NC; Gloria Watson and husband Ken of Boone, NC and Wilma Smith Thomas and husband John of Bristol, VA; one sister-in-law, Teresa Smith; one niece, Courtney and two nephews, Justin and Casey; also many friends. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 6, 2018 at the Ocoonita Cemetery in the Occonita Community of Jonesville, VA with Rev. Paul Davis Jr. officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:45 P.M. Sunday for the service.
