Obituary Joseph Ray Shuler was born March 7, 1958 in Keokee VA and departed this life April 4, 2020 at the age of 62 at his home. He has lived in Lee County, VA his entire life. He graduated from Keokee High School in-which he loved playing sports. He served in the US Navy and he was the owner/operator of Shuler trucking until he became disabled. Then he pursued an associates degree from Mountain Empire Community College. He was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Glessie Shuler; three brothers Donnie Ray, Everette Monroe, and Carl Delano Shuler; two sisters Nell Pennington and Peggy Shuler; one niece Donnie Jean Catron. Joe is survived by two children Brandon Shuler (Tara) of Keokee, VA and Amanda Shuler; four brothers Layne Pennington of Jonesville, VA., Kevin Pennington (Regina) of Big Stone Gap, VA, Shayne Pennington (Judy) of Lithia, FL., and Tracy Bailey (Aggie) of Keokee, VA; two sisters Joy Tant (Bill) of Knightdale, NC and Lynn Scott (Carson) of N. Vernon, IN; two very special friends Larry Estep and Randy Caudill; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren; five nieces and four nephews. Go rest high on the mountain Dad.
