Obituary Johnny J Jones age 91 of Pennington Gap, VA was born January 15, 1931 in Lee County, VA and passed away May 18, 2022 at Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap, VA. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Airforce from 1951-1959 , he had been a Sunday school teacher for 19 years at Pennington Gap Church of God of Prophecy. Johnny owned and operated Baily and Robbins Furniture store and loved to garden, hunt ginseng, fish, but most of all he loved being a witness for God. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Martha Jones, two sisters Pansy Mabe and Ruby Jones, and a daughter-in-law Carolyn Jones. Johnny is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Barbara Lewis Jones of Pennington Gap, VA, one son Johnny Jones of Pennington Gap, VA, one daughter Debbie Galloway and husband, Keith of Jonesville, VA, two granddaughters Brittany Jones and Heather Jones, one grandson and Pawpas little buddy John Galloway, four great-grandchildren (they called him "Big Papaw") Gracie, Mason, Baylee and Isabella. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Province Funeral Home in Pennington Gap, VA. A funeral service will be at 7:00 PM Wednesday with Angela ODell and Tim Cradic officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 26, 2022 at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:30 AM Thursday to go to the cemetery.
