Johnny Wayne Bartley, age 73, of Jonesville, VA, the Ben Hur Community, passed away Friday afternoon, January 12, 2024 while at the Lee Health and Rehabilitation Center in Pennington Gap.

He was Born in Lee County, VA the son of the late James Marvin and Jean Terry Bartley on January 23, 1950. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a 1968 Graduate of Jonesville High School. He then attended Clinch Valley College (UVA-Wise) and furthered his education by graduating in the 1973 class of Pharmacy at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. He spent most of his career at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was a avid fisherman as long as his health permitted.

He is survived by his sister: Susan Bartley Widener of Ben Hur, VA and several cousins and a host of friends also survive.

In keeping with his wishes, his body will be cremated and a Graveside committal service will be conducted on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 1PM at the Lee Memorial Gardens in the Woodway Community with Pastor Paul Davis, Jr officiating. It is requested the family and friends meet at the cemetery by 12:50 pm for the services.
