Johnnie Paul Bledsoe, age 70 of York, SC and Formerly of Lee County, VA was born on October 29, 1945 in Stickleyville, VA and passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC. Johnnie was a member of the Son's of the American Legion Post 34 in Rock Hill, SC; a member of the Men's Auxiliary at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2889 in Rock Hill, SC and a member of Moose Lodge 1720 in Rock Hill, SC; He was also of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by his father, Rhea Bledsoe and his mother, Kate Bledsoe; three brothers, Murel, Larry and Arnold Bledsoe and one sister, Phyllis Bledsoe. He is survived by his wife Jean Bledsoe; four sons, Phil Bledsoe (Teresa) of Pennington Gap, VA; Johnny Paul Bledsoe of Sharon, SC; Mike Allen (Frances Lewis) of Sharon, SC and Jeff Allen (Barbie) of Glen Rock, PA; three grandchildren, Mandy, Shawn and Steven and two great-grandchildren, Noah and Ava; he is also survived by one brother, Jimmy Bledsoe (Lou) of Duffield, VA and two sisters, Shirley Gilliam of Gloucester, VA and Betty Lou McElroy (Eugene) of Duffield, VA. Johnnie had a host of family and friends too numerous to mention. He was a gentle and laid back person and loved to help anyone he could. He will be missed by all of his family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 P.M. Monday, January 25, 2016 in the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap, VA with Preacher Bob Grider officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. Monday until time of services. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 Noon Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at the Bledsoe Cemetery on Middle Wallens Creek Rd. in Jonesville, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday to go to the cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
