John Merrill Miner Jr., 69, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at his childhood home. He was surrounded by faithful friends and beloved companion Coucho, after a short battle with life and cancer.

He won the battle of life, doing what he loved. Throughout his life living on the farm, he was an avid Harley man, enjoying the feel of freedom.

John was born on January 13, 1956 to the late Johnny Merrill Miner Sr. and Ruth Jenkins Jessie. He was raised by aunt Hester Jenkins at the farm.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by a son, John Merrill Miner III, who is forever young.

Those left to cherish his memory are his lifetime friends, Gary Rose, who was also a caretaker for John, providing precious care and commitment, Molly Napier who provided hope and care for John, Campbell Cope who provided strength, Roger P Smith who provided stability, Becky Hall Brown and sister Sharon Napier for providing unconditional love and childhood memories, along with several uncles, cousins, and friends. John loved hard and real, and left a legacy of this, his freedom has been found.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
