Obituary John Paul Lewis age 76 of Dryden, VA was born July 21, 1946 in Pennington Gap, VA and passed away October 22, 2022 in Kingsport, TN. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, outdoorsman and a Alabama fan. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp serving two tours in Vietnam, he was also spent a tour in the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents Smith Lewis and Joyce Allen Lewis, his grandparents McKinnley & Martha Lewis, Claude and Ellen Allen, two uncles Marvin Lewis, Wayne Lewis, three aunts Jean Cottrell, Shirley Nickodam, Billie Hutchinson, one special nephew Wesley Osborne, two nieces Rosie Grace Mitchell and Aprie Osborne. He is survived by one brother Michael Douglas Lewis of the home, two sisters Pat Ely of Jonesville, VA and Martha Phillips and husband, Joe of Ocoonita, VA, special nephews Logan Lewis, Timothy Phillips, Kenny Phillips, Darrell Poteet and wife, Sherrie, and Tim Lawson, special nieces Jessica Morris and children, Shannon Haun and husband, Dean, Cynthia Miller and husband, Junior and girls, Billie Ely and daughter Addy, Misty Mitchell and daughter Olivia, Megan Malone and husband, John, great-nephew Alex Dean and Ariel and son, Dallas, Chelsea and Amber Miller of Morris Town, TN and Brandon Miller and family of Pennington Gap, VA, great-nieces Harley and Kalie Marcum whom he loved very much and close friends Jimmy Mullins and Donnie Baumgardner whom he shared many hunting and fishing adventures with, among many other close friends. Johns wishes were to be cremated with no services to be conducted. He cremains will be scattered in the mountains that he loved in Southwest Virginia.
