Joanna Owens age 59 of Rose Hill, VA was born in Harlan, KY on Friday, June 24, 1955 and passed away at the Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital in Middlesboro, KY Tuesday, April 21, 2015. She was a nurse for the Duffield Regional Jail, was a member of the Speaks Chapel Methodist Church and attended Silver Leaf Church. She was preceded in death by an infant son Andrew Dale Owens and her father and mother Kennith and Betty Sue Davis. Joanna is survived by her husband Danny Owens of the home, one daughter Leslie Trent and husband, Landon of Rose Hill, VA and one step-granddaughter Zoey Trent. Joanna is also survived by one brother Kennith Davis and wife, Karen of Rose Hill, VA, four sisters Eileen Collins, Linda Sue Davis, Rose Mary Hoskins and Doris Doyle and husband, Tom all of Rose Hill, VA and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. The funeral service will be held at 8:00 PM Friday, April 24, 2015 at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Jonesville, VA with Rev. David Jones officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM Friday until the time of the service. The graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday at the Silver Leaf Cemetery 2708 Old Nursery Rd. Rose Hill, VA 24281.
