Obituary Jimmy Lee Parsons, age 72, of the Woodway Community, was born September 27, 1947 in St.Charles, VA and went to his Heavenly Home November 8, 2019 in Kingsport, TN. Jimmy was a devoted member of the St. Charles First Baptist Church where he was a Deacon for more than 30 years. He was also the Childrens Church Director for over 30 years and loved his children and church family. He was a retired coalminer. He always enjoyed sports and was an intramural coach for several years. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and his gardens. Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Mabel Parsons; 2 brothers Fred "Junior" Parsons and Roger Parsons. Jimmy is survived by his wife Donna Parsons of the home for 53 years; his daughter Pamela Statzer and husband Randall of Kingsport, TN; 2 grandsons Michael Britton and Gabriel Statzer both of Kingsport, TN; one brother Earl Parsons of Woodway, VA; several nieces, nephews ,extended family and a host of many friends. Visitation for Jimmy will be Tuesday, November 12, 2019 from 6 - 8 p.m. at the St.Charles First Baptist Church in St. Charles, VA. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at 12 p.m. in the sanctuary of St. Charles First Baptist Church with Pastor Paul Davis, Jr. officiating. In lieu of flowers donations in Jimmys honor is to be made to the Childrens Church of St. Charles First Baptist Church in St. Charles, VA.
