Jewell Davis, age 83 of Rose Hill, VA was born Wednesday, August 9, 1933 in Lee County, VA and passed Wednesday, October 26 at the Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN. She had been a homemaker and a member of the Speaks Chapel Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Wiley Davis, parents Lincoln and Carrie Marcum, one son Roger Davis, one granddaughter Ashley Collins, two brothers Hoover and Chester Marcum and one sister Lois Jaynes. Jewell is survived by three sons Kyle Davis and wife, Shirley, Rick Davis and wife, Natalie, Chris Davis and wife, Peggy and daughter-in-law Lana davis, all of Rose Hill, VA, one daughter Carol Bell and husband, John of Newport News, VA. Jewell is also survived by eleven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and two special nieces Linda Powers and husband, Kenny, Geraldine Marshall and husband, Kenny, six loving sisters-in-law and special friend Phillip Alves. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, October 29, 2016 at the Province Funeral Home in Jonesville, VA with Dennis Jones and Tracy McPherson officiating. Burial will follow at the Marcum Cemetery in Rose Hill, VA. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon Saturday until the time of the service. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
