Jerome Hiram Wright, 82, of Keokee went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 7, 2025 at Ballad Hospice House.

Jerome was born on December 14, 1942 in Tallapoosa, Georgia to the late James Wright and Bertha Acreman Wright later moving to Alabama where he would call home. Jerome worked for Delta for several years as a mechanic and supervisor for many years before his retirement. After relocating to Lee County, Virginia he worked for MEOC for several years.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Smith Wright; sister, Frances Wright Hale; and brother in-law, Bill Smith.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sister, Carolyn Irene Abney; nephew, Ken (Deb) Nolen; niece, Linda Hale; step daughter, Jenny Shaw; brother in-law, Allan (Shirley) Smith; and great nephew, Toby Smith.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Pennington Gap Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Leonard Lane and Pastor Paul Davis Jr. officiating.

A committal service will follow at Lee Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
