Jeffery "Jeff" Thomas Anderson, age 65, of Jonesville, Virginia passed away Thursday afternoon, May 25, 2023 while at the Lee County Community Hospital in Pennington Gap, VA. Jeff had been battling cancer for the last 8 months. He was born October 23, 1957 the son of the late Roy and Irene Nelson Anderson in Salem, Indiana. He was of the Baptist faith. He had been a coal miner for approximately 25 years and had also worked in construction and landscaping. He had a true love for the outdoors, fishing and gardening.

Preceded in death by his parents, he is also preceded in death by a daughter, Holly Anderson his grandparents, Milam and Lily Anderson and James Wesley and Alice Nelson. A brother Mike Anderson and a sister Sandra Kay Miller.

He is survived by a Son: Matthew Anderson of Duffield, VA

3 Brothers: Robert (Bob) Anderson and wife Sheila

Richard Anderson and wife Tammy all of Jonesville, VA

Ronald Anderson of Tennessee

2 Sisters: Marie (Elaine) Brewer of Kingsport, TN

Kim Anderson of Jonesville, VA

1 Brother in law: Arthur Miller of Duffield, VA

Special friend: Stacey Fee

Several Nieces, Nephews and other family members and a host of friends also survive.

Funeral services will be Tuesday evening, May 30, 2023 at 7 pm in the chapel of the PENNINGTON GAP FUNERAL HOME, 42098 E. MORGAN AVE., PENNINGTON GAP, VA with Pastor Steve Neff officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 pm preceding the services. Burial will be Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at 10:30 am in the Ewing-McClure Cemetery at Jonesville, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. It is requested the every one meet at the funeral home in Pennington Gap, VA by 9:45 am to go in procession to the cemetery.

The family would like to thank Mt. Region Home Health and Hospice along with his Doctors for his care. Also, they would like to thank his many friends and family for all the prayers and help during this time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
