James Richard Evans, 77, of Jonesville, Virginia passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024.

James was born on November 19, 1946 in Pennington Gap, Virginia to the late Roselee Evans. James worked for many years as an operator for the sewer plant in Lee County before his retirement. James was a faithful parishioner of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Jonesville. He was a loving husband, caring father, proud grandfather, and loyal friend to many.

Along with his mother he is preceded in death by his daughter, Candy Benfield; grandmother, Sarah Evans; and step father, Kermit Wells.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Teresa Majewski Evans; sons, Phillip Evans (Angel), and Andrew Evans (Mary); daughter, Amanda Bedenbender (Craig); grandchildren, Alice Carroll (Stacey), Lushanna Evans, Savannah Evans, Grace Windham (Orion), and Hunter McKinney; brother, Roger Evans; brother in-law, John Majewski (Dianna); along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. A funeral mass will follow with Father Ritchie officiating.

A committal service will follow at Woodard Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
