Obituary James Douglas Ely age 80, resided in Melborne, FL. He lost his battle with cancer and passed away on Friday, June 17, 2022. He was born to parents James and Rosie Montgomery Ely on March 2, 1942. He was raised in Lee County, VA but spent most of his remaining years in Melbourne, FL. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish, hunt, and garden. One of his favorite hobbies was metal detecting and he share that interest with us when visiting him in Florida. He also enjoyed fixing and tinkering with cars and boats. Out father was a man with a kind and loving sprit . There are no words to express our love for him or how much we will miss him. See you in heaven Dad. He was preceded in death by his children, Billy L. Ely and Angela Ely. His brothers Bill and Terry Ely and parents James & Rosie Ely. He is survived by his children , James O. Ely and wife Joy, Charles Ely, Teresa Ely, Dunn and Lisa Harbough, His sisters Kyla Robertson, and Betty J. Swanson, his brothers Alfred Ely.
