Obituary James Cecil Crabtree, Jr. age 90 of the Woodway Community of Pennington Gap, was born July 3, 1930 in Pennington Gap, VA and passed away May 4, 2021 in Kingsport, TN. He had been a Veteran of the U.S. Army and a Welder. He was preceded in death by a daughter Lisa Crabtree, his parents Laney and James Crabtree, Sr., and two sisters Mary Crabtree and Joy Holman. James is survived by four sons Shawn Crabtree of Covington, KY, Randy Crabtree and wife, Dawn of Independence, KY, Greg Crabtree and wife, Patricia of Pennington Gap, VA and James Crabtree and wife, Beverly of Morning View, KY, two daughters Angie Crabtree of Pennington Gap, VA and Patty Crabtree of Bowling Green, KY, eighteen grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers Wayne Crabtree and wife, Evelyn of West Carrollton, OH, Billy Crabtree and wife, Ollie of Florida, and Joe Crabtree and wife, Wanda of Church Hill, TN, three sisters Feryl Poteet and husband, Dude of Jonesville, VA, Betty Taylor of Woodway, VA and Lou Statcher of Dryden, VA. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Province Funeral Home in Pennington Gap, VA with Paul Davis, Jr. officiating.
