Obituary James 'Jay' B. Bledsoe age 82 of Pennington Gap, VA was born in Jonesville, VA on Thursday, September 12, 1935 and passed away Sunday, July 22, 2018 at his home. He was a member of the Low View Baptist Church and retired as a heavy equipment operator with Woodway Stone Co. He was preceded in death by his father and mother Jim and Pearl Bledsoe, son James M. Bledsoe, brothers Jack Bledsoe, Cecil Bledsoe and Earnest Bledsoe, sisters Coleen Byington and Texil Baldwin. James is survived by his wife Barbara Bledsoe of the home, one son Calvin Bledsoe and wife, Joyce of Jonesville, VA, adopted son Austin Bledsoe and wife, Selena of Gate City, VA, two granddaughters, one grandson, five great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters, two brothers Roy Bledsoe and Floyd Bledsoe and one sister Brenda Lister. A funeral service will be held at 8:00 PM Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at the Province Funeral Home in Pennington Gap, VA with Rev. Jack Cope and Rev. Carter Hagar Officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM Tuesday until the time of the service. A graveside service will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 AM Wednesday for the service.
