James W. "Jim" Bailey age 77 of Rose Hill, VA was born in the Kemmer Gem Community of St. Charles, VA on Wednesday, May 24, 1939 and passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at the Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap, VA. He was a retired correctional officer in Richmond, VA and he attended the Friendship Baptist Church in Pucketts Creek. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty years JoAnn Bailey, parents Ruby and Bill Kluck and Sam Bailey and a sister Barbara Ashburn Varner. Jim is survived by one son William Wesley "Stoney" Bailey and wife, Patty of Pennington Gap, VA; one step-daughter Lisa Kay Melear and husband, Lynn of Kingsport, TN; three grandchildren Stoney James Bailey of Rose Hill, VA; Mason and Matthew Bailey of Pennington Gap, VA; two great-grandchildren, one sister Kay Stapleton and husband, James of Pennington Gap, VA; one brother Joe Kluck and wife, Betty of Ewing, VA, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, a great-nephew a host of friends and his dog, best friend and companion Little Man. A memorial graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, VA with Brother James Stapleton officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:45 Thursday for the service.
