Jackie L. Sexton, age 58, of Gate City VA, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday evening, May 14, 2025 while at his residence following a lengthy and courageous illness.

He was born August 9, 1966 in Kingsport, TN a son of Myrtle Jean (Hammonds) Sexton and the late Worley Leon Sexton. He was retired after 32 years as a document coordinator with Eastman Chemical Company. He was proud of the fact he was a born again Christian and believer of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Along with his father, he is preceded in death by his Mother and Father in law: Gerald and Nell Carter Bowen and his sister in law: Kathy Darnell Sexton.

He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years; Robin (Bowen) Sexton of the home. Daughter; Kayla (Sexton) Townsend and Husband; Dustin. 2 Brothers; Eugene Sexton, Mark Sexton and wife Vicki. 1 Sister; Charlene Darnell and Husband Earl. 3 Grandchildren; Madison, Alexa and Dalton, all of Gate City, VA. Special friend; Kenny and Lori Dingus.

Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and other family members along with a host of friends also survive.

The family will receive friends Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 1PM until 2:30 PM at the Faith Bible Tabernacle, 4225 Bristol Highway, Hiltons, VA. Graveside services will follow at 3:30 pm in the Adams Cemetery on Adams Cemetery Lane, the Manville Community of Gate City. Rev. Eugene Sexton will officiate. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital online at https://www.stjude.org in the hopes of further helping our young Scott County Children in current need. Special thanks to every one who called, texted or helped in any way during Jackie's illness, our family appreciates everything.
