Obituary Jack Verlin Whited, 85, of the Woodway Community went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at his residence. Jack was born on April 2, 1937 in St. Charles, Virginia in the Monarch Community. He was a life long resident of Lee County. Jack retired from Central Supply after over 40 years of employment. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of First Baptist Church of St. Charles. He was an avid antique car enthusiast and a gracious donor to many charities. Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Wilburn and Katie Whited; son, Gregory Lee (Hudie) Whited; sisters, Billie Jean Crabtree and Mary Helen Whited; son in-law, John Haynes; and mother of his children, Faye Whited. Those left to cherish his memory are daughters, Jackie Haynes of Pennington Gap and Lisa Christie and husband Donald of Rose Hill; grandchildren, Alicia Satterfield (Eric), Krista Kimberlin (Aaron), Dustin Whited (Savanna) and Nickolas Whited; great grandchildren, Johnny Satterfield (Abbie) and Kyndal Satterfield (Dorian); caregivers, Teresa Spivey and Kristie Pol; along with a host of extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday March 12, 2023 at Province Pennington Gap Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Paul Davis, Jr officiating. A committal service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 13, 2023 at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:30 PM to go in procession. Dustin Whited, Nickolas Whited, Eric Satterfield, Aaron Kimberlin, Johnny Satterfield, and Don Christie will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Ridings and Tiger Coleman.
