Jack R. Dillman, 76 of Rose Hill, VA passed away peacefully at Johnson City Medical Center surrounded by loved ones.

He is proceeded in death by his parents Hatton and Martha Carter. Brother Oscar "Tad" Dillman, infant sister Barbara, sisters Opal Brock and Rebecca (Peggy) Putman and husband Robert. Also best friend J. Caldwell.

He is survived by the love of his life wife of 53 years Virginia Lankford Dillman of the home. Velvet Dillman Ledford and grandson Jack Sebastian Ledford of Rose Hill, Jacque Dillman (Christopher Moore) of Rose Hill. Survived also by sister Carrie Daman of Monroe Michigan and brother Mike Dillman, Pennington Gap, VA. Also special nephews: Brian Daman, Scott Putman, Ty Putman all of Michigan and Michael (Mikey) Dillman of PA. Niece Susie Daman also of Michigan. And special cousin Richard Hoback and wife Faye.

As per Jack's wishes he was cremated before sunset the following day with only his wife and daughters nearby to celebrate his life. No public visitation or service to follow.

The family wishes to thank the life care helicopter crew and doctors and nurses who provided care for him at Johnson City Medical Center in his final days. A special thanks to the Thomas Walker rescue squad. We will forever miss the husband and father who worked tirelessly to provide for and cherish us but still managed to walk us into school, take us on a Sunday drive and take mom for her ice cream cone. We will never let the sun set on you Jack.
