Ivan McKnight Souders, age 75 of the Shepherd Hill Community of Keokee, VA was born on Friday, June 14, 1940 in Keokee, VA and passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Saturday, January 2, 2016. She had lived in Lee County all of her life and was the owner of Ivans Cloth and Crafts store in Pennington Gap, VA. She was also a member of the Derby United Methodist Church in Appalachia, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Palmer and Luria McKnight; one sister, Lavelle Sanders and one brother, Billy McKnight. Ivan is survived by her husband, John Scott Souders of the home; two sons, Mark Souders and wife Mary and Jeff Souders and wife Lisa, both of Derry, PA; one daughter, Pamela Markowsky and husband Jerry of Ligonier, PA; three grandchildren, Jessica, Scott and Jonathan and three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Dallas McKnight and wife Marian of Woodway, VA; Randall McKnight and wife Wanda of Jonesville, VA and Allen McKnight and wife Susie of Woodway, VA; two sisters, Louise Garrison of Derby, VA and Priscilla Beaver and husband Kenneth of Powhatan, VA. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 6, 2016 in the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap, VA with Rev. David Rose officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. until time of services Wednesday. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 7, 2016 at the McKnight Family Cemetery on Old Mill Rd, Keokee, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:00 P.M. to go to the cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
