Helen Sturgill, 78, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at her home in Jonesville, Virginia surrounded by her family.

Helen was born on August 25, 1946 to the late James William Smith and Cora Lee Smith (Skinner). She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, and friend who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Allen Sturgill Sr.; two sisters, Irene Harrel and Ethel Farmer; two brothers, William Pete Smith and Sam Smith.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Bryan Sturgill, Michael Sturgill, Roy Allen Sturgill Jr., and Daniel Wilson Sturgill; two daughters, Helen Livesay and Loretta Manning; two brothers, James William Smith Jr. and Leonard Earl Smith; one sister, Doris Robinson; grandchildren, Jennifer, Dalton, Joseph, and Morgan; great grandchildren, Rylen Alexis, Waylon, and Weston; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Per her wishes, Helen will be cremated with no formal services.
