April 13, 1937 – June 17, 2025
Harry Lee Crider age 88, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 surrounded by his family. Harry was a faithful member of his church Faith Missionary Baptist Church of Jonesville, Virginia. Harry leaves behind a legacy of love and unwavering faith. Harry was a devout Christian and leaned on the Lord for strength during his long battle with cancer.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Gail Crider; granddaughter, Courtney Nicole Buscher; His parents, Bill and Leonia Crider; Brothers, Charles, Fred, Cecil, Tom Mack and Junior Crider; Sisters, Betty Jean Spurlock, Fannie Ellen Eldridge, and Loretta Galloway.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 59 years, Dorothy Sue Crider; Two Sons, Harry Crider, Jr. (Mary) of Rose Hill, Virginia and Charles (Colette) Crider of Jonesville, Virginia; Two Daughters, Treasa Jerrell (Kevin) and Robbin Hershelmann (Vance) both of Rose Hill, Virginia; One Sister, Polly Lou Bigsby of Prince Frederick, Maryland; Six granddaughters, Kaci Leatherman (Shane), Heather Bailey (Dusty), Katilyn Brown (Mike), Elizabeth Emery, Jamie Buscher, and Linda Crider; One grandson, Nicholas Crider; 11 Great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and His faithful dog, Molly.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, June 20, 2025 at Powell Valley Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Kevin Jerrell and Pastor Mickey Gibson officiating.
A committal service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, Virginia. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 AM to go in procession. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Keith Cowden and Caris Hospice of Big Stone Gap, Virginia.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for any donations to be made to the Youth Fund at Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Mr. Crider's memory.
