Obituary Georgia Ruth (Bailey) Surber was born January 29, 1925 in Keokee, VA; departed December 16, 2022 at Norton Community Hospital at the age of 97 years. She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Lee County, VA. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Jonesville, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Clinton and Emma (Parsons) Bailey, brothers, Howard and Everette Bailey, sister, Grace (Bailey) Parsons Galloway, husband, Howard Surber and son, Randy Surber, Sr. She is survived by her son, Doug (Jan) Surber of Miamisburg, OH, daughters, Vicki (Jerry) Ward of Duffield, VA, Tracy (Mark) Hughes of Pennington Gap, VA, daughter-in-law, Leigh Ann Surber of Jonesville, VA, 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren, special nieces, Linda Cowden and Carol Woodard, special friend Berneda Cooper and a host of other friends. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Province Funeral Home in Pennington Gap, VA. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday with Rev. Doug Odle and Rev. Fred Cagle officiating. Burial will follow at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, VA.
