George Edward Fletcher, age 91 of Rose Hill, Virginia passed away on March 8, 2016. He was born April 16, 1924 in Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Thomas and Laura (Pendleton) Fletcher; two brothers, Frank and Luke (Little Red) Fletcher; five sisters, Joncie Brooks, Mary Ellison, Eva Adams, Nellie Helton and Julia Fee. He is survived by his wife, Jean Fletcher; four sons, Raymond, Darnel (Diane), Tony, Tracy (Laura) Fletcher; one daughter, Shannon (Donnie) Campbell; 17 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews. Cousins and many good friends. He was a World War 2 Veteran and served in the United States Army. He retired from Rockville Crush Stone in Rockville, Maryland. He was a hard worker, who loved to mow lawns as a side job and loved planting a big garden every year. He was loved by so many, especially his family.
Funeral services will be held at 8:00 P.M. Friday, March 11, 2016 in the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Jonesville, Virginia with Reverand Tillman Branson officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. Friday until time of services. George will be laid to rest at the Wiley Cemetery in Tazewell, Tennessee on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 12 noon. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 11:45 A.M. Saturday for the service.
