George Sinclair Cooksey, Jr. age 93 went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 4, 2026 surrounded by those he loved.

George was a hard worker, dedicated family man, and all around good guy. He would do anything for anyone.

In addition to his parents the late George S. Cooksey, Sr. and Mabel Cooksey, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Maudella Cooksey, brother Norvel Cooksey. and sister Dora Seabolt.

George is survived by his three sons George S. Cooksey, III, Andrew (Sharon) Cooksey, Michael Cooksey (Kathleen Willis), brother Billy (Juanita) Cooksey, sisters Mabel White, Lorraine (Joe) Cooper, grandchildren Jackie, George, Randy, Lois, and Karen, and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Kathleen Willis for her dedicated care of George during his passing.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 12:00 noon August 13, 2026 at Raymond Funeral Home in LaPlata, MD with the funeral service at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery.
