Geneva King Shoemaker age 88 of Pennington Gap, VA was born in Evarts, KY on Monday, November 1, 1926 and passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the Mountain View Hospital in Norton, VA. She had been a homemaker and of the Baptist Faith. She was preceded in death by two sons Roger Harris and Ernie Wilson Harris, her mother Nancy Dean King and her father Ashor King, three brothers Ray Burkhart, Coburn King, Clifford King and four sisters Oak Burkhart Harris, Jane Rowe, Maebell Madden and Hazel King. Geneva is survived by her children David Harris of Jonesville, VA, Margaret Rogers and husband, Arvil of Jonesville, Mary Ann Scott of Big Hill, Paul Shoemaker of Duffield, VA and Rick Shoemaker and wife, Susan of Dryden, VA. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, a sister Geraldine Rowe of Jonesville and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, August 17, 2015 at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap, VA with Paul Davis, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at the Pennington Memorial Cemetery in Pennington Gap. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon Monday until the time of the service. Province Funeral Home of 42098 E.
