Gary passed away quietly with his family at Holston Valley Medical Center following a stroke.

Gary loved watching and betting on all sports, especially football and NASCAR. He loved fishing and would have spent his last days doing that if he wouldn't have lost his right side to a previous stroke.

Gary has a lot of blood family that he has not seen in years. He was not perfect but no means. He spent most of his life in prison. Most of those guys were his family. But more than anything he loved his kids.

Welcoming him into heaven are is Maternal Grandmother Mattie (Myers) Fugate, and his Mother Ruby Calhoun

Left to mourn him are his Daughter: Frankie Calhoun. Son: Kermit Calhoun (Rachel). Grandsons: Bronson Light, Andrew Shafer, Lucas Shafer, Nicholas Shafer, Joshua Calhoun, and Bryson Calhoun. Granddaughters: Hunter Olinger, Abigale Shafer, Maelyn Shafer, and Isabelle Calhoun, 2 great grandsons and 1 great granddaughter.

Gary's Celebration of Life will be on Saturday January 13, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Mt Carmel Free Will Baptist Church 3711 Beech Creek Rd, Rogersville, TN 37857. Pastor Kermit Calhoun will be officiating.

The family would like to thank all of the nurses at Holston Valley Medical Center that cared for Gary and helped him cross over peacefully. You are appreciated more than words can say.
