Mrs. Frances (Bowen) Mullins, age 79 of Mount Airy, North Carolina went to be with the Lord Friday, June 28, 2024, with family and friends at her bedside. She was born July 24, 1944, in Kingsport, Tennessee and was a graduate of Rye Cove High School, in Scott County, Virginia. She was employed by Greene Supply in Kingsport, Tennessee, and later served as the owner/operator of Mullins Pawn Shop and Jewelers in Mount Airy, North Carolina. She was a member of the Mount Airy Chamber of Commerce and the American Business Women's Association and was awarded Woman of the Year by the ABWA in 1991.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Keith Mullins; parents, U.W. "Jay" and Helen (Quillen) Bowen; sister, Linda Carrico; and brother, Jay Ezra Bowen. She is survived by devoted daughter, Lora and son-in-law Justin Gammons, beloved grandson, Bowen Gammons; stepdaughter, Yvonne Johnson; sister, Sue Vaughn; sister-in-law, Helen Bowen; as well as many loving nieces and nephews, extended family and a host of special friends and faithful caregivers.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 2, 2024, from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. Additionally, the family will receive friends Friday, July 5, 2024, from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm and Saturday, July 6, 2024, from 10:00 am-11:00 am at Three Bells Methodist Church in Duffield, Virginia. The service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday and will be officiated by Pastor Sean Bailey. The burial will be held at the Fraley Family Cemetery in Duffield, Virginia directly following the service.
