Ester Neavajean 'Jean' Tabor age 78 of the Woodway Community in Pennington Gap, VA was born on Wednesday, November 18, 1936 in St. Charles, VA and passed away Thursday, June 4, 2015 at the Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap, VA. She had been a homemaker and of the Baptist Faith. Jean enjoyed collecting dolls, camping and loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by a daughter Sondra Scott, a grandson Gary Lynn Tabor, her father Delmar Scott, one sister Doris Massengill, one brother Dave Scott, son-in-law Rick Pennington and mother and father-in-law Pauline and Hubert Tabor. Jean is survived by her husband of 54 years Lenford Tabor of the home, her mother Bertha Scott of Pennington Gap, VA; sons Timmy and Vicki Harber Tabor of Keokee, VA, Lenford Jr. and Sherry Tabor of Woodway, VA, Gary and Robin Tabor of Pennington Gap, VA, Jackie and Lori Tabor of Anderson, IN, Rodney Tabor of Woodway, VA and Brad and Missy Tabor of Dryden, VA; Daughters Elizabeth Pennington of Woodway, VA, Carolyn and Mike Linkous of Duffield, VA, Melissa and Robert Coleman of Ocoonita, VA, Michelle and David Ely of Dryden, VA, Robin Tabor of Kingsport, TN, Christy and Mike Newton of Jonesville, VA and adopted daughter Lois Shaffer of Kingsport, TN. She is also survived by thirty six grandchildren and thirty two great-grandchildren, one sister Shirley Johnson of Indiana and brothers Frank Scott, James Scott and Freddy Scott all of Indiana, Paul Scott of Mississippi and Jerry Scott of Pennington Gap, VA. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM Sunday until the time of the service. The funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, June 7, 2015 at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap, VA with Pastor Mark Tabor and Bishop Gary Wood officiating.
