Ernestine "Tena" Peters age 82 formerly of Dryden, VA was born Friday, November 24, 1933 in Knoxville, TN and passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at her home in Woodway, VA. She was of the Baptist Faith and had been a cook at Gilberts Restaurant in Dryden, VA. She loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her dog Two Two. She is preceded in death by her husband Roy Milford Peters, Sr., a son Roy "Duke" Milford Peters, Jr., her parents and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by three daughters Dobbie Owens and husband, Randy of Woodway, VA, Sheila Peters (Chris Begley) of Dryden, VA and Tena Goodnight and husband, Tim of Omaha, NE. She is also survived by her grandchildren Brian (Shila) Owens, Chris Owens, Courtney (Wayne) Owens Miracle, Jason (Tonya) Peters, Louis (Chelsea) Lindsay, Tiffany Goodnight, Timothy Goodnight, Christina Peters, Alisha Peters, Danny Peters and several great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap, VA with Rev. Sean Bailey officiating.
