Obituary Emily Wynn Garrett, of Pennington Gap, age 85 went peacefully to her Heavenly home on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Holston Valley Medical Center. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. She will be remembered as a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She enjoyed gardening and had a green thumb that could make anything grow. She loved to bowl and bowled on a league for several years. She also had a great love for animals. She enjoyed the holidays, birthdays, and loved spending time with family and friends. Emily always loved visiting her family in Maynardville,TN, and considered it her second home. She will be remembered most by her infectious smile and that unforgettable laugh. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dixie Garrett. Her son, Robert Garrett. Her parents, Felix and Martha (Hall) Wynn; siblings, Zelma Wynn, Jess Wynn, Eli Wynn, Thelma King, Blant Wynn, Lawrence Wynn, Martin Wynn and Norma Middleton. Emily is survived by her children, Roy Garrett of Pennington Gap, Eddie Garrett and wife Genia of Jonesville, Tim Garrett and wife Regina of Pennington Gap, and Sandy Murphy and husband Ed of Pennington Gap; grandchildren Tracey Sawyers (Paul), Rob Fletcher (Jennifer), Pamela Garrett, Shawna Carrico (James), Crystal Clinebell (Bryan), Jason Garrett (Erin), Sara Grindstaff, Joshua Garrett (Sheena), Austin Baxter, Noah Baxter, Dalton Rivers (fiance Britney), Kristen Parker (Tracey), and Shelby Murphy; great grandchildren Jay Corbin (Savana), Nic Corbin, Codie Garrett, Bryan Clinebell, Jr. (fiance Chelsea), Jackson Garrett, Sway Garrett, Elliott, Robert and Clara Carico, Torryn Parker and Averie Baxter; siblings Burl (Wanda) Wynn, Wesley (Bonnie) Wynn, Amy (Eddie) Thompson and Carrie Wynn. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Monday, March14, 2022 at Province Funeral Home in Pennington Gap, VA. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM Monday with Paul Davis, Jr. officiating. Graveside service will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Pennington Memorial Cemetery on Hwy 421 in Pennington Gap, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:30 AM Tuesday to go to the cemetery.
