Edith June Hartsock age 86 of Pennington Gap, VA was born Sunday, October 27, 1929 in St. Charles, VA and passed away Monday, May 9, 2016 at her home. She had been a nurses aide at Chestnut Grove Assisted Living in Dryden, VA and was a member of the Cane Creek Freewill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Molly Owsley, grandson Allen Wayne Ely II, two brothers Christopher and John Owsley and three sisters Susie Sword, Lelia White and Cleo Wallen. She is survived by her husband of 50 plus years Nathan Hartsock of the home, four sons Hubert Kimberlin, Jr. and wife, Lori of Coeburn, VA, Zackery Hartsock and wife, Michelle of Pennington Gap, VA, Nathan Hartsock III of Coeburn, VA and Mark Hartsock and wife, Dana of Pennington Gap, VA, five daughters Patricia Ely and husband, Wayne of Noblesville, IN, Freda Hester and husband, Clyde of Baileyton, TN, Peggy Worthman of Arcadia , IN, Janet Capps of Pennington Gap, VA and Tammy Bledsoe and husband, Mike of Carmel, IN. She is also survived by twenty two grandchildren, forty six great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 8:00 PM Thursday, May 12, 2015 at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap, VA with Rev. Don Jones officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM Thursday until the time of the service. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday at the Powell Valley Cemetery in Dryden, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:00 AM Friday to go to the cemetery. Grandsons will serve as Pall Bearers.
