Earl Gene Murphy, 70, of Jonesville passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at UT Medical Center.

Earl was born on July 6, 1952 in Pikeville, Kentucky to the late Hansel and Belvia Taylor Murphy. He was a mechanic and a coal miner until his retirement. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with family and friends any chance he could.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Murphy; one step grandson; and several brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his daughters, Tina Murphy, Conswella Murphy Middleton and husband Jonathan Keith; step son, Calvin Casey; brother, Ronnie Murphy; sisters, Anna Rae Jones and Roberta Swartz; grandson, David Pinion; granddaughters, Samantha Pinion, Brittaney Musillami, and Kristina Musillami; along with a step grandson, several great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Pennington Gap Funeral Home.
