Dovie Morene Holmes Musick , age 78, of St. Charles, Virginia was born in Keokee, Virginia on May 21, 1946, and passed away in Pennington Gap, Virginia on August 23, 2024.

She was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother for many years. She was a strong-willed woman that put everyone else before herself. She loved to provide food to all that came to visit, to make sure no one did without. She also sold Avon Products during the 1980s. She was considered to be like a second mom to many of the local children during her lifetime. She loved puzzles, crocheting, and playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dovie was preceded in death by her husband Ray Richard Musick of 60 years. Her parents Worley Pete Holmes and Lillie Hoover Holmes. Her first-born daughter Diana Lynn Music. She was also preceded by two sisters; Josie Faye Goodman and Doshia Mae

Coeburn.

She is survived by her four children, Lisa (Phil) Nimety, Jimmy (Christina) Musick, Johnny Musick (fiancée Jennifer Valerga), and Teresa Littlefield; by two siblings, Donna (Charlie) Russell and Ricky (Wanda) Holmes and ten grandchildren, and twelve great-children. Also, by many extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at Pennington Gap Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at Hoover Hill Cemetery in Keokee, VA with James Stapleton officiating.
