Doris "Charlene" Haynes Statzer, 82, of Pennington Gap went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at Lee Health and Rehab.

Charlene was born on May 31, 2026 in Lee County, Virginia to the late Paskel Haynes and Mary Fletcher Haynes. Charlene loved her family and cherished them helping her siblings raise their children as her own.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, William Statzer; her siblings, Lowell Haynes, Linda Hounshell, Robert Haynes, Kenneth Haynes, Eleanor Haynes, Lois Stapleton, and Mary Scott.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sister, Shelby Haynes; along with several special nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at Powell Valley Cemetery with Pastor Paul Davis, Jr. officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:45 AM.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Lee Health and Rehab and the nurses of Caris Hospice for their loving care of Mrs. Statzer.
