Doris Jean Mitchell, 87, of Ben Hur went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at Johnson City Medical Center.

Doris was born on September 22, 1937 in Kemmerer Gem to the late Tip and Ruby Sexton Fleenor. Doris worked as a press operator for many years before her retirement. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her sons, Charles Mitchell and Thomas Mitchell; daughter, Phyllis Mitchell; sister, Louise Alford; and brother, Tiny Fleenor.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Noah Ellis Mitchell, Jr.; sons, Albert Mitchell and wife, Jackie of Morristown, TN, Danny Mitchell and wife, Linda of Marion, NC; grandchildren, Jennifer, Little Albert, Calvin, and Robin ; several great grandchildren; sister, Hazel McGuire of Nebo, N.C.; brother, Delmar Fleenor and wife, Cindy of Kentucky; brother in-laws, James Mitchell and Bud Mitchell; sister in-law, Judy Bell Sexton; along with several nieces and nephews

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Pennington Gap Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Paul Davis, Jr. officiating.

A committal service will follow at Red Hill Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
