Dennis Ramon Speak age 69 of Rose Hill, Virginia entered eternal rest on March 3, 2024 with Kathy, the love of his life by his side.
Dennis was born November 21, 1954 in Rose Hill, Virginia. He attended Flatwoods Elementary and Flatwoods High School where he excelled in the sports of baseball and basketball. Dennis joined the United States Air Force and served his country with pride and honor for 12 years. Dennis was a lifetime member of McClures Chapel United Methodist Church of Rose Hill. In recent years he attended Jonesville First United Methodist Church of Jonesville actively participating in Sunday School, Worship services, and United Methodist Men's activities. Dennis cherished his relationship with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, He was truly transformed by Gods Amazing Grace.
Dennis was preceded in death by his grandparents, John P and Daisy Speak, and Kenneth and Gladys Riggs; his parents, Ramon Farrel and Carolyn Jo Riggs Speak.
Dennis is survived by the love of his life, Katherine Speak of Pennington Gap, VA; aunt, Sue Shrader of Mt Airy, NC; brothers, Patton Speak and wife Mona of Pennington Gap, VA Timothy Speak and wife Jackie of Newnan, GA; sister, Janie Evans of Jonesville, VA; stepsons, Kenny Denson and wife Leann of Monroeville, NJ and David Denson and wife Lorri of Key West, FL; beloved granddaughter, Olivia Denson of Monroeville, NJ; Dennis was blessed with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
He expressed his desire to be laid to rest with fellow soldiers at Mountain Home National Cemetery in Johnson City, Tennessee.
A Military committal service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 8, 2024 at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Rev. Richard Davis officiating. American Legion Hammond Post #3/265 will be providing Military Honors. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at Mountain Home National Cemetery (53 Memorial Avenue, Johnson City, Tennessee 37684) by 1:40 PM.
In lieu of flowers Dennis requested that donations be made to the Circle of Joy of Jonesville United Methodist Church in Jonesville, Virginia.
Dennis Ramon Speak and his family are in the care of Pennington Gap Funeral Home.
