Deborah "Debbie" Dykes, age 58, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 31, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Debbie was born August 15, 1968, in Harrogate, Tennessee, to the late Ray and Faye Crigger. She was saved at a young age during Vacation Bible School at Dauphin Way Baptist Church and was a member of Tiprell Full Gospel Community Church.
Debbie cooked at many restaurants over the years, and folks all down the valley still talk about her biscuits and gravy and her hamburgers. She loved the outdoors, especially fishing, camping, gardening, and planting her flowers. Above all, she was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved her babies dearly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sandy Skipper.
She is survived by her son, David (Genavie) Dykes; grandchildren, David and Hagen Dykes; sisters, Conni (Chris) Green, Jenny (Kenneth) McNew, and Chrissy (Chris) Daniels; and a host of nieces and nephews, and many other beloved family members.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 6, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Powell Valley Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Kolby Mullins officiating. A committal service will follow at Cottrell-Johnson Cemetery in Harrogate, Tennessee.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Powell Valley Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
Deborah "Debbie" Dykes and her family are in the care of Powell Valley Funeral Home.
