Dave Malone, age 84 of Keokee, VA, passed away early Monday morning, January 15, 2024 at his home with his family by his side after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Dorchester, VA on August 16, 1939, a son of the late Walter and Lola McQueen Malone (Harber). He was a coal miner, working for J&P Coal Company for a majority of his coal mining time.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Lawrence Malone and a sister: Barbara Woodard

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years: Helen Barnette Malone of the home, 1 son: Walter "Butch" Malone (Dianna) and a daughter: Jennifer Lynn Lawson (Lynn) all of Keokee

Grandchildren: Shayne Bailey, Nikki Lawson (Kenny McMahan), Whitney Lawson (Tyler Pennington) and Blake Lawson (Izzy)

Great grandchildren: Colton and Amia McMahan, Anna Lynn and William Pennington, Luke, Corbin and Harper Lawson

Sister in Law: Wanda Malone of Rogersville, TN. Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and other family along with many friends are left to cherish his memory.

In keeping with Dave's wishes, his body will be cremated and no services are planned at this time.

Dave and his family are in the care of Pennington Gap Funeral Home.
