Obituary Clyde D. Wardell, age 90 of Pennington Gap, VA was born on Monday, September 3, 1928 in Sevier County, TN and passed away Sunday, February 10, 2019 at Holston Manor in Kingsport, TN. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. A self taught musician, he played with several local bands from Tennessee, Kentucky and Virginia for over 70 years. He was employed with all our local radio stations WSWV, WJNV and WAXM. He is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years Lela, his parents Jim and Lou Wardell, two brothers J.B. and Chuck Wardell, four sisters Ruth Brown, Willie Ross, Aileen Stevens and Rella Welch all of Sevier County. Clyde is survived by his daughter Robin (Scott) Napier and his son Scott Wardell both of Pennington Gap, VA. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Angel, Scotty and Dylan Wardell , Schyler (Jamie) Hackney, Brandon Napier and fianc, Heather Harmon, eight great-great grandchildren Ethan, Cameran, Madison, Colin, Snow, Dean and Fraia Wardell and Kambrie Hackney.
